Ready to find out what MSU Denver can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
In the P2W! program, MSU Denver Psychology majors and Human Development and Family Studies majors spend a day at a local workplace. Students follow professionals during the workday to learn first-hand what their job and workplace environment is really like. Students complete a comprehensive non-credit earning course, spanning the academic year, which includes over 20 professional development activities. The activities included LinkedIn Learning certificates, discussions with peers, and assignments on topics such as networking, giving an elevator pitch, and resume writing. By participating in P2W! students will learn about professionalism in the workplace, write a polished resume, network and build connections with professionals, build a LinkedIn page, and have the opportunity to build community and make friends with fellow P2W! students.
Applications for next year’s program will be available early in the fall semester.

Students’ Experience
“I learned not only about new career opportunities that I did not previously know existed, but also about the various educational pathways by which to land in such a career field. I feel like I learned a lot about myself and my professional skills during this experience as well. This experience gave me more confidence in my decision to pursue my career, which was encouraging.”
“I learned that organization, collaboration, and time management skills that I currently have can easily be applied/transferred to other professions like this one.”
Host Sites’ Experience
“The Psyched to Work! students conducted themselves professionally throughout the experience (arrived on time, dressed appropriately, engaged, etc.) and had a genuine interest in our organization and this field of work.”
“The student was professional and asked relevant questions pertaining to a shadowing role. She was prepared to inquire about different opportunities to work in the mental health field and shared some common myths and attitudes about getting a job with a bachelor’s degree. She was personable and honest in her presence, she will make a wonderful helper in whatever role she seeks in the future.”
